A Gryphon house concert
Cats and Jammers

Last night we had one of our occasional invitational house concerts, featuring our
favorite swing artists, Cats and Jammers.
Tony Marcus, Piper Heizig and Sylvia Herold never fail to pack our small concert
hall.
Right at closing time we scurry about, shoving all the instruments and display fixtures
into the smaller side rooms so we can clear the floor for seating:
We can seat about 80 if everyone scrunches up together. The acoustics in the room
are OK, and we only need amplification for vocal balance. Many of our concerts are
strictly acoustic without any sound reinforcement.
It only takes about half an hour to set up, and before long we're full up!
The "Cats" always have a great time playing here, and it shows:
Between sets, there's time for schmoozing and a little shopping:
Before you ask, we only have a few concerts a year, by invitation. We just don't
have the staff to operate a regular music performance venue.
Future concerts are announced in the Gryphon Gazette and on the Gryphon website. (www.gryphonstrings.com)
