Here's a stunning art piece from the Taylor gang in Southern California. The most
spectacular quilted maple you're likely to see, with a beautiful transparent blue
finish. The neck is maple, too, and it has a gloss finish like the body. This new
Taylor guitar sports the new high-tech neck construction including the finger-jointed
attached headstock.
That little school of big koi is inlaid in a variety of colored celluloid with the
kind of attention to detail that characterizes Taylor's work. It almost seems as
though the top and fingerboard are transparent as we view the fish from above.
Update, 4/27/00:
My wife, Joy Imai, has been a potter for as long as I've been a guitar mechanic.
Yesterday she felt inspired to make a pot to match this instrument, so we'd have
a really special display at the shop:
